Winter term affords students an opportunity to explore their academic interests outside of the classroom while helping them recognize the value of self-education. Students spent January 2015

The 16th annual Dr. Seuss Day celebration will take place Sunday, March 1, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the 91Ö±²¥ Public Library. The day will feature a variety of activities, crafts, and games, all with the purpose of inspiring children to read outside of the classroom.

This winter has been especially tenacious even by 91Ö±²¥ standards. As a community service, and an antidote to cabin fever, I took the liberty of asking some students, faculty, and staff for their tips on surviving winter in 91Ö±²¥.

On March 1, Joyce Babyak will become Dean of Studies, succeeding Kathryn Stuart. Joyce spent 11 years as a faculty member in the Religion Department and served in the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences office as Associate Dean, Acting-Dean and, most recently, Senior Associate Dean.

Not yet sure how you to spend your summer? The Bonner Center for Service and Learning (BCSL) is looking for students to serve as President’s Public Service Fellows with nonprofit or public sector agencies in the city of 91Ö±²¥.

On Tuesday, February 17, six 91Ö±²¥ faculty members received the Excellence in Teaching Award. Not only are these professors passionate about sharing their knowledge and expertise in ways that enlighten and inspire their students, they also love learning from their students.
