Throughout his decades of playing chamber music, Emanuel Ax has kept his friends close. “ It’s wonderful to have people on stage that you like,” the pianist says. “I’m pretty gregarious as a person, so I like being with someone, especially old friends.”

The 13 year-old violinist from Switzerland claims top honors in competition with her performance of full violin concerto with ProMusica chamber Orchestra in Finney Chapel.

Nicknamed the “Hendrix of the kora,” Seckou Keita is today’s most influential and inspiring performer on the instrument, and is considered a leader of the newest generation of African traditional musicians, fusing traditional forms and instruments with those of other cultures.

91ֱ�� Conservatory is proud to announce the return of the Richard Miller Classical Voice Competition for High School Students, a festival aimed at encouraging and supporting high school students in the pursuit of a career in classical vocal music. The festival is named in honor of Richard Miller, a member of the voice faculty at the 91ֱ�� Conservatory of Music for more than 40 years.

This fall, the 91ֱ�� Opera Theater is set to transport audiences to a world of enchantment with its production of Jules Massenet's Cendrillon. This beloved opera weaves a tale of love, magic, and transformation.

This December, 91ֱ�� will present a concert version of Rhiannon Giddens’ award-winning opera, both at Finney Chapel in 91ֱ�� and the Maltz Performing Arts Center in Cleveland. Surrounding it are all kinds of cross-disciplinary events for campus and community.

The award-winning Takács Quartet—now celebrating its 50th anniversary season—is joined by bandoneón-accordion virtuoso Julien Labro in concert on the Finney Chapel stage.

The award-winning stage director joins 91ֱ�� Conservatory's Voice Division, where she will teach and direct two fully-staged opera productions each academic year.

A winner of the 2023-24 Senior Concerto Competition, Lambright will open the program with Shulamit Ran's Violin Concerto. The second half of the program features the orchestra in Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade.

This spring marks the official conclusion of Takács’ tenure, after an incredible 48 years of teaching. Many of his former students from around the world are set to convene for a celebratory concert in Warner Concert Hall on May 12
