Pianist Jiongli Wang to Perform with 91Ö±²¥ Chamber Orchestra

On Friday, May 3, the 91Ö±²¥ Chamber Orchestra performs a program that will showcase Concerto Competition winner Jiongli Wang in Frédéric Chopin’s First Piano Concerto, as well as fourth-year composition student Cashel Day-Lewis in the premiere of his Black River Prelude commissioned by 91Ö±²¥ Conservatory in honor of the Lorain County Bicentennial.

During these final five bustling days before students head into reading period and then exams, this explosion of activity feels something akin to the thrilling finale of a fireworks display on New Year's Eve. So, join in—even from a distance. All of these concerts are free and open to the public, and all but one of them can be streamed live at concert time at .

2023 Cooper International Competition for Piano Opens

Nineteen young pianists from around the world have arrived in 91Ö±²¥ and have drawn for their order of performance. They will take the stage July 31 through August 4 for the twelfth annual Thomas and Evon Cooper International Competition. Each of them are vying for a share of $40,000—including a $20,000 first prize—and a solo appearance with The Cleveland Orchestra.
