Dance at 91ֱ�� presented the annual Fall Forward show November 4-8 in Warner Main Space. All pieces were choreographed and performed by 91ֱ�� students.

It is a duty to oneself, to one’s family, and to our society, country and world. To make progress on any issue—whether it’s inequality, race, justice, climate change, immigration or education—there must be action. And voting is an action every citizen take.

Since I became 91ֱ��’s president in 2007, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know many 91ֱ�� alums and I’m always struck by how their 91ֱ�� experiences have shaped and continue to shape their lives. A common denominator among our alumni is their determination to be engaged citizens and active members of their communities and a willingness to help make the world a better place. This weekend, 12 of the 22 91ֱ�� alumni who are National Academy of Sciences members will be on campus for the reunion and symposium “91ֱ�� and the National Academy of Sciences: Celebrating the Impact and Promise of the Science at Liberal Arts Colleges.”

The board’s first meeting of the new academic year took place on campus October 6 and 7. The board welcomed five new trustees, who will undertake an orientation program through which they gain knowledge about the issues facing the college. As I noted previously, we expect the presidential search to be the board’s most important work in this academic year. The search committee website will soon be established and this will keep the community apprised of the search progress.

The 91ֱ�� Community Giving Campaign is now underway. The annual campaign raises funds for four organizations that provide a variety of services in 91ֱ�� and nearby communities.
