John Petersen Coauthored Paper to Appear in "Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems"

Paul Sears Distinguished Professor of Environmental Studies and Biology John Petersen recently published the paper "" in the journal Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems with undergraduate collaborators and coauthors Sunniva Sheffield and Taylor Hoeffer. Alicia Smith-Tran and Students Present at North Central Sociological Association's Annual Meeting

Two fourth-year sociology majors and one faculty member presented at the in Columbus, OH on March 30. Maggie Balderstone 鈥24 presented research on experiences of transgender athletes at 91直播, and Luca Johnson 鈥24 delivered a talk about public transportation in Los Angeles. Assistant Professor of Sociology Alicia Smith-Tran 鈥10 spoke on teaching photovoice methodologies to undergraduate students.

Matthew Rarey Wins 2024 Afro Latin American/Afro-Latinx Scholarship Prize for Essay

Associate Professor of Art History Matthew Rarey has also been named the winner of the 2024  for his essay 鈥淟eave No Mark: Blackness and Inscription in the Inquisitorial Archive,鈥 published in  (National Gallery of Art, 2023). The award honors an outstanding scholarly essay on Afro Latin American and Afro-Latinx art, and is awarded jointly by the Association of Latin American Art and the Visual Culture Section of the Latin American Studies Association.

Amanda Zadorian Contributes to Report on EU Enlargement and Neighbourhood

Visiting Assistant Professor of Politics Amanda Zadorian is a contributor to "Costs of Non-Enlargement - a Foresight Report on EU Enlargement and Neighbourhood" (published by and Zeit-Stiftung Bucerius). It argues that Europe's interests are best served by bringing Ukraine and its neighbors into the European Union as full members. The report launches this month with events in Brussels and Berlin.
