Visiting Assistant Professor of Writing and Communication Katie Lind delivered the talk “Cultivating the Eco-Citizen” at the Syracuse University Project Advance seminar. The presentation offered practical and theoretical considerations for empowering high school and college students to become more environmentally aware and civically engaged. She will deliver the same presentation on May 20 in New York City. 

Professor of Voice Timothy LeFebvre sang the title role in Verdi’s Rigoletto with Tri-Cities Opera in Binghmamton, New York, as part of the company’s 75th anniversary season. LeFebvre is a frequent performer with the company, having sung more than 15 leading roles with them during the last 35 years.

Assistant Professor of East Asian Religions Andrew Macomber was awarded a subvention grant from the Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Program in Buddhist Studies (administered by American Council of Learned Societies) for the publication of his book Cadaverous: Postmortem Contagion and Ritual Immunity in Medieval Buddhism (University of Hawaii Press, 2026).
