Deadline and Submission Guidelines
The complete application should be submitted as a single PDF document (excluding recommendation forms) by 11:59 p.m., on Feburary 20th, 2026 to this . Application can be found in the . Incomplete or late applications will not be reviewed. Applications for Summer 2026 will be released at noon on November 19th.
Letters of Recommendation writers, please submit your letters via this .
A complete application includes the following:
☐ Signed and completed application (link) cover page (Fill out the application entirely, then export the document as a PDF.)
☐ Research proposal section: completed by the student under the guidance of their proposed mentor
☐ Personal statement section: completed by the student
☐ : completed by the student and mentor in collaboration (found within the application
☐ Unofficial transcript
☐ Two completed by 91ֱ faculty who can speak to your potential for research or advanced academic work
**One letter of recommendation must be from your proposed mentor**
The General Faculty Committee on Undergraduate Research will review all completed applications submitted on the deadline and select a cohort of fellows. Applicants will be notified in March on the status of their application. Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Strength of the research project proposed (student-designed projects) or strength of written description of the proposed project (faculty-designed projects)
- Demonstrated promise for completing a long-term, intensive research project
- Strength of mentoring plan
- Ability to contribute to an inclusive and supportive community of undergraduate researchers
