91Ö±²¥ Conservatory’s student and faculty performers have been filling most concert venues throughout the campus over the last week. During these final five bustling days before students head into reading period and then exams, this explosion of activity feels something akin to the thrilling finale of a fireworks display on New Year's Eve. Two years in the making, 91Ö±²¥ Conservatory students and faculty are in midtown Detroit, April 14-15, to participate and perform in the , held at —an organization dedicated to showcasing Black arts and artists. 

On November 4, the orchestra releases a new album dedicated to the music of George Walker, 91Ö±²¥ Conservatory class of 1941, and a trailblazing composer. Recorded between October 2020 and March 2022, the album spans 50 years of the composer’s impressive career. Its release falls shortly after the 100th anniversary of his birth.
