Job title? Managing Director for Theater, Dance and Opera
How many years at 91ֱ? Eight
Were you a ‘theater kid’ in school? If so, tell us about it. I was most certainly a theater kid, but always backstage, I’ve never felt any desire to be onstage. I was incredibly lucky in that I went to a private high school that had an amazing theater program, whose director also ran a network of 13 children’s theater programs all over California. One weekend, I would be in Marina Del Rey living in a beach house working on Oliver, and the next weekend, I could be in Napa, Poway, or Santa Clarita doing something totally different on a different show. I met so many amazing people, many of whom are still some of my best friends.
Favorite play performed at 91ֱ? To date, I would say because it was the first show in the new Irene and Alan Wurtzel Theater.
Favorite childhood memory? I’m a huge baseball fan, so one of my favorites is easily my first trip to Fenway Park on September 1, 1983. The Sox got blown out 11 - 0 by the Twins, but I got to see Carl Yastrzemski play one of his last games before retiring.
Hobbies? Running; noodling around on the bass, drums, or guitar; woodworking; hanging out with my kids or traveling.
Favorite quote or personal philosophy? You can have anything you want, you just can’t have everything.
