In recognition of the 50th anniversary of Eary Day, we look back on some of the sustainability programs and milestones that support the college’s commitment to its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2025.

If the walls in Finney Chapel could talk, they would reverberate with the enchanting sounds of the 91Ö±²¥ Orchestra; command attention with empowering words spoken by Martin Luther KingJr.; and pulse joyously along with South Africa’s Soweto Gospel Choir.

Senior Eli Presberg was recognized with an award for a presentation of the students’ research in the Africatown, Alabama, community.

On Sunday, April 23, student groups and community members joined with the Western Reserve Land Conservancy to help restore a two-acre section of prairie on what’s known as 91Ö±²¥â€™s .

A curricular collaboration took place when two classes visited Detroit to meet with community members who are leading the charge for sustainability and revitalization efforts in the city's predominantly African American neighborhoods.
