Christopher Trinacty Publishes and Presents

Christopher Trinacty, associate professor of classics, published a short article in Classical Quarterly titled 鈥,鈥 which shows how Cicero alludes to Lucretius in one of his letters. He also reviewed the recent books, Cassandra and the Poetics of Prophecy in Greek and Latin Literature by Emily Pillinger in Classical Philology and the Latin of Science for . In addition, he recently presented a paper 鈥淟abor in Seneca鈥檚 Letters鈥 at the Midwest Classical Literature Consortium, and his chapter, 鈥溾 was featured as one of the 100 most important chapters in the 100 volumes of the Trends in Classics journal series.

Ana Mar铆a D铆az Burgos Publishes聽Scholarly Monograph

Assistant Professor of Hispanic Studies Ana Mar铆a D铆az Burgos published the scholarly monograph  (translated to: Trafficking Knowledges: Female Agency, Sorcery and Inquisition in Cartagena de Indias (1610-1614)). Through a deep engagement with archival materials, the book reconstructs and studies the life of do帽a Lorenzana de Acereto, a woman from Cartagena's creole elite who was persecuted for sorcery in the Inquisition's first "auto de fe" in the 17th century Caribbean.

The Dutch edition of East Asian Studies Professor Sheila Miyoshi Jager's book Brothers At War: The Unending Conflict in Korea was released on June, 23 2020 from Uitgeverij Omniboek. It joins the U.S. and UK editions, both published in 2013.

Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature and Italian Stiliana Milkova in Italian about the RAI/HBO TV series "My Brilliant Friend."
