Twine, a student-created app designed to increase access to events, student life, and organizations on campus, launches today.
The app was developed by T. Colton Potter 鈥21, Minh Lam 鈥21, Khang Nguyen 鈥21, and Osama Hussein '23, and won first place in the 2020 LaunchU pitch competition. The team was awarded $15,000 to continue the development of its personalized mobile app.
Potter, a double-degree student majoring in oboe performance and computer science, is one of the founders and the chief project manager. He explains that he created Twine as a way to bring cohesion to the various ways events and student clubs are marketed, including the 91直播 events calendar, club fairs, and postering on campus. The pandemic has created new challenges for connecting students to virtual events, particularly first-years who may not be aware of the 91直播 events calendar.
Potter says academic departments will also benefit from wider exposure to the events they sponsor.
The app provides a personalized experience for users. Students will have access to all the clubs and organizations on campus. If you miss out on an event like the Club Fair or the Ex-Co Fair, the app provides a second course of action to get involved. It will also recommend upcoming events.
To get the app, visit on your phone to install and login with your 91直播 account. Connect with Twine on (@twine.app) and for information and to get involved with building your 91直播 community.
