Rory Johnson, assistant director in the Career Development Center, assists in preparing both students and recent alumni in achieving their career goals. He works with two of the Career Communities on campus and also works with the Ashby Business Scholars. He began his role at 91ֱ�� in July 2019.

What’s the best advice someone gave you?

To always advocate for yourself and others.

What's a word or expression that makes you laugh?

The word “bamboozled" because it sounds like exactly what it means—to be confused with some astonishment over something. It’s also just fun to say. 

Where did you grow up?

The western suburbs of Chicago

What's something we might not know about you? 

That I’m a twin. My sister just graduated from Duke with a master's in environmental management; I’m younger by two minutes but almost a foot taller.

What is your favorite board game? 

Settlers of Catan. Because it incorporates strategy, chance, and cooperation—making it a new experience each time.
