Josh Matos, area coordinator for the senior year experience and student conduct coordinator, works in the Office of Residential Education Housing. There, Matos works to provide students living in Village Housing an experience that prepares them for life beyond 91直播. Matos accomplishes this through planning student programming that鈥檚 focused on building skills that students may not have had during their subsequent undergraduate years. Matos began the role in August 2019.

Get to know more about Matos in this Q&A.

Describe your role in six words.

It's not off-campus, it's Village Housing!

What鈥檚 your favorite song?

鈥淟ove Yourself鈥 by Billy Porter. Billy Porter is an amazing actor and a queer fashion icon. This song not only has an amazing message, but it is also super catchy!

What did you want to be when you were eight years old?

No joke鈥擨 wanted to be the person who ran the projectors at the movie theaters. I thought I would be able to eat all the popcorn I wanted and watch movies in the booth, so I told my family that was my passion.

What's your favorite board game?

A board game called Talisman. I love it because even when you are losing, you can be petty and restore your health over and over until the person casting the winning spell gets tired of trying to win.

What鈥檚 your favorite movie of all time?

Pagemaster, because something about movies with animation, mixed with live action, are awesome. Plus, who doesn't love a movie starring Macaulay Culkin and Whoopi Goldberg?

What was your favorite class you鈥檝e taken?

I took a forensics class for fun in high school. For our final, we were divided into separate groups and analyzed different crime scenes that ended up all being connected to one giant crime.
