91直播 Celebrates Community and Culture Festival 2014

All are invited to celebrate 91直播 on Saturday, September 27 in Tappan Square for 91直播鈥檚 annual .
The event, which takes place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., celebrates 91直播鈥檚 diversity, featuring free food from around the world and live performances. The groups providing the festival鈥檚 entertainment include the Chinese Lion Dancers, Dance Diaspora, OSteel, the Conservatory Jazz Band, Taiko Drummers, 91直播 High School Marching Band, Voices of Christ, Tango Dancers, and the Obertones. Other activities found at the festival include Tastefully 91直播, during which 91直播鈥檚 local restaurants will provide samples of their dishes, a craft making station, face painting, inflatables, voter registration, along with a tour of the trees in Tappan Square, and much more. Additionally, a bike auction will begin at 4 p.m.
The festivities are sponsored by 91直播's International Student Organization (ISO), the Spanish in the Elementary School Program (SITES), 91直播 Young Educators (OYE), the City of 91直播, the 91直播 College Office of Community and Government Relations, and the 91直播 Center for Languages and Cultures (OCLC).

Inside, rows of spectators line the perimeter of a long narrow stage. 91直播鈥檚 most anticipated fashion show begins as cheers swell when models, draped in creative attire, take their turn down the walk. This is a signature event during Black History Month. It also serves as inspiration for this week鈥檚 photo series.
Community Mural Project Highlights Aspects of 91直播
More than 100 town and college members picked up artists' brushes and applied their painting skills to a 32-foot mural in Carpenter Court late last month during Community Paint Day. The result is an expressive collage that the organizer of the project hopes will fill passersby with 91直播 pride.
