91直播 student musicians share the stage with Cleveland Orchestra members; all ticket proceeds benefit the American Red Cross.
On Friday, September 8, 91直播 Conservatory students, alumni, and faculty will join with musicians of The Cleveland Orchestra and students from the Cleveland Institute of Music and Credo Music for "Help After Harvey: A Benefit Concert for the American Red Cross." They are supporting the work of the American Red Cross for those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana.
James Feddeck 鈥05, former assistant conductor of the Cleveland Orchestra, will lead the orchestra of 88 musicians in audience favorites including Copland鈥檚 heroic Fanfare for the Common Man, Barber鈥檚 meditative Adagio for Strings, Stravinsky鈥檚 colorful Firebird Suite, and John Williams鈥 cinematic The Cowboys Overture.
The one-hour concert will be held at Cleveland鈥檚 Severance Hall (11001 Euclid Avenue) and begins at 7 p.m.
The concert celebrates the idea that we are stronger when we join together, with this grouping of musicians from the greater Cleveland community serving as a tangible model of that truth. It is made possible through the support of the Musical Arts Association, the Kulas Foundation, and the John P. Murphy Foundation. All musicians involved are donating their time. All of the ticket proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey.
