The versatile and soulful Leipzig String Quartet comes to Finney Chapel on March 3 at 8 p.m. The "master chamber musicians" will perform an all-Beethoven program and tickets are available by calling 800-371-0178 or online at oberlin.edu/artsguide.

The Washington Post calls 91ֱ�� alumnus and Met Opera singer Alek Shrader "a gifted young tenor." He will present a recital at 91ֱ�� Conservatory on March 1, at 7 p.m. in Warner Concert Hall. The concert is free and no tickets are required.

Three 91ֱ�� Conservatory students will be featured in a concert with the 91ֱ�� Chamber Orchestra on March 2 in Finney Chapel. The concert will begin at 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Raphael Jiménez, who says that the concert will be “a feast of student talent.” Admission is free, and no tickets are required.

“Sing to love, love we never knew before!” Filled with lively melodies and unforgettable waltzes, Die Fledermaus opens on Wednesday, March 13, with additional shows on Thursday–Sunday. Tickets are available at 1-800-371-0178 or online oberlin.edu/artsguide.

Journey through the odyssey of works by Beethoven for fortepiano and cello when David Breitman and Jaap ter Linden perform the cycle on February 16 in Kulas Hall. Part I begins at 4:30 p.m., and following a break, Part II continues at 8:00 p.m. Free and no tickets are required.

On Sunday, February 17 at 3 p.m., musicians from the widely acclaimed Apollo’s Fire Baroque Orchestra and 91ֱ�� Conservatory of Music will perform in a concert to benefit homeless families served by Family Promise of Lorain County. The concert will be held at First Church in 91ֱ�� and donations are welcome.

Faculty violist Michael Strauss is joined by guest artists Roger Roe and R. Kent Cook on February 7 in a concert entitled "Poetic Music for Oboe, Viola, and Piano." Featuring reader Professor of English T.S. McMillin, the concert is free and open to the public.

91ֱ��'s Contemporary Music Ensemble, under the direction of conductor Timothy Weiss, released their debut recording on the 91ֱ�� Music label at their DiMenna Center concert in New York City on Friday, January 18. The CD, A place toward other places, features solo performances by conservatory faculty clarinetist Richard Hawkins.

The Cleveland Orchestra returns to 91ֱ�� College for its 211th Artist Recital Series performance on Friday, February 8, at 8 p.m. in Finney Chapel. Gianandrea Noseda will conduct the orchestra in a diverse and colorful program of works by Rachmaninoff, Rota, and Prokoviev.
