New Program Offers Summer Community-Service Opportunities

A new community service initiative鈥攖he President鈥檚 Public Service Fellowship (PPSF)鈥攚ill provide funding for 91直播 College students to work full-time during the summer with an 91直播 community partner on an intensive service project.
91直播 College students committed to community engaged work related to youth empowerment, leadership, the arts, and/or ecological and economic sustainability are strongly encouraged to apply.
The program is administered by the Bonner Center for Service and Learning (BCSL), which is seeking applications from 91直播 College students to one of three placements: 91直播 Community Services, The Bridge/91直播 Public Library, and the city of 91直播.
The deadline for applications is 4 p.m. on Friday, March 14.
The PPSF is made possible with funding from the Office of the President. 鈥淚n keeping with 91直播's tradition of community engagement, we are creating this new opportunity for students to fulfill their passion for public service within the 91直播 community,鈥 says President Krislov. 鈥淭his program will assist local agencies that fill a critical need in the community, while at the same time empowering students to cultivate change.鈥
