Musical America Honors Jeremy Denk '90 and ICE

91直播 alumni are featured prominently in the newly announced Musical America Awards, an annual celebration of artistic excellence and achievement in the arts since 1960.
College and conservatory alumnus 鈥90 was named 2014 Instrumentalist of the Year. Recently praised for his performance of Bach's Goldberg Variations鈥攖丑别 Washington Post noted its 鈥渞evealing journey into the soul鈥濃攁nd a recipient of the latest round of MacArthur "genius" awards, Denk was cited by Musical America for his "multifaceted artistry."
Also honored was the (ICE), a flexible ensemble of 33 artists鈥攎any of them 91直播 graduates鈥攈eaded by executive director Claire Chase 鈥01. Musical America named ICE its 2014 Ensemble of the Year for its inspired style of music making and its success in distinguishing itself in the world of new music.
The artists will be profiled in feature-length articles in the Musical America 2014 Yearbook, to be released in mid-December. The awards will be presented at a ceremony at Lincoln Center on December 17.
