Michael Fiorillo '14 Receives Fulbright Grant

Michael Fiorillo 鈥14 has been awarded a 10-month English Teaching Assistantship in Brazil. Fiorillo, who is from East Lyme, Connecticut, is a history major with minors in Hispanic studies and economics. He says he wants to spend most of his time getting involved with the community in which he鈥檚 placed. 鈥淔or me, it鈥檚 not a question about where do I plan to visit, but rather who can I come to know, what can I learn from my community, and how can I become involved.鈥
Fiorillo is currently enrolled in Portuguese 101. During his second year, he participated in an intensive Spanish language program in Guadalajara, Mexico. This year, he became a Spanish tutor for students at Langston Middle School in 91直播. Fiorillo has played varsity men鈥檚 lacrosse for four years, and he has been team captain for the last two years.
After his Fulbright year, Fiorillo says he plans to gain more experience in law and policy.
