The Jupiter String Quartet will perform a free concert to wrap up its two-year residency at the 91ֱ�� Conservatory of Music. The concert begins at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 20, in Kulas Recital Hall; the program includes Beethoven's middle period "Harp" quartet, Op. 74 and Bartók's sixth and final quartet.

Known for performances marked by "energetic firmness and fine nuance" (New York Times), the Jupiter Quartet has been decorated with some of the most prestigious prizes in chamber music, including the Avery Fisher Career Grant and first prize at the Banff International String Quartet Competition. The quartet features violist Liz Freivogel (91ֱ�� alumna ’00), cellist Daniel McDonough, and violinists Meg Freivogel and Nelson Lee.

Over the last two academic years, the Jupiters have served as quartet in residence at 91ֱ��. They visited campus three weeks each year to teach, coach chamber music, and perform. They also recorded the Ravel String Quartet and other works on the label, released in 2013.
