Evan Kresch Named U.S. Fulbright Scholar

Assistant Professor of Economics Evan Kresch will travel to Spain next spring as a , where he will continue his research and teach at the .

Kresch will join the faculty at UAM and will teach a course he developed at 91直播 on Economic Development of Latin America to fourth-year students. On the research side, he will participate in the department鈥檚 graduate seminars and will give several presentations on his research. Kresch also will continue his research that intersects with public finance, institutions, and development economics. In addition to his work on property taxes and government procurement in Brazil, he will look to collaborate with the UAM faculty on projects related to procurement in Spain and potentially migration decisions in Latin America.

鈥淚 am delighted to have the opportunity to participate in the Fulbright program, and I am very much looking forward to sharing my experiences when I get back,鈥 said Kresch. 鈥淭he grants office was an invaluable resource, and the economics department was also incredibly helpful and supportive. I owe a lot to both of them.鈥

Fulbright Scholar awards provide opportunities for scholars to teach and conduct research abroad. Fulbright scholars also play a critical role in U.S. public diplomacy, establishing long-term relationships between people and nations.
