Computer Science Students Earn OCWiC Conference Awards

Assistant Professor of Computer Science Cynthia Taylor, along with several students studying computer science, February 20 and 21 in Sandusky, Ohio. The conference offers a rare opportunity for women in computing to interact and share experiences in a collegiate and collaborative environment. 91直播 was one of 29 Ohio colleges and universities represented.

At OCWiC, undergraduate student attendees had the opportunity to display research they have undertaken during a poster session. Christine Antonsen, whose research concerned Dynamic Selfish Routing, was one of two students awarded $1,000 to attend the upcoming , the world鈥檚 largest gathering of women technologists after which OCWiC is modeled, in Houston, Texas.

Honorable mentions were awarded to Samantha Mater, Krista LaFentres 鈥14, Stephen Checkoway, and Cynthia Taylor for 鈥淭he Use and Misuse of Disposable Email.鈥 Students Elizabeth Bentivegna, Ilona Brand, Nora Hayes, and Amanda Strominger also attended the conference.
