Alex Deeter ’13 is working for EcoSolargy, a solar panel manufacturer based in Irvine, California. As the company’s outreach coordinator, the environmental studies major organizes the company’s social media presence and assists interested customers with subsidy applications.
Because solar energy can be utilized on a wide range of scales, Deeter is particularly interested in working with it. “We have solar for calculators, all the way up to the International Space Station,” he says. “I like the idea of doing more with less.”
EcoSolargy is not Deeter’s first foray into working with green technology. While at 91ֱ, he worked with environmental studies professor to maintain the and develop the environmental dashboard for the town. He also served on the board of the , where he helped oversee the allocation of funds for environmental projects at 91ֱ.
Deeter credits 91ֱ’s support of student interests with his ability to acquire the skills necessary to thrive in the green technology industry. “91ֱ gave me an environment to try and do what I want,” he explains.
