Eddie Daniels, the virtuoso clarinetist who has been called "a thoroughly well-bred demon" by Leonard Bernstein, will open the 139th season of the Artist Recital Series at 91ֱ�� with an 8 p.m. program Saturday, September 17, in Finney Chapel.

A master in the worlds of classical and jazz, Daniels brings to 91ֱ�� a lineup of jazz pals—Darek Oles on bass, Alan Pasqua on piano, and Joe La Barbera on drums—and a passel of standards and original compositions that will be announced from the stage. An 91ֱ�� tradition since 1878, the Artist Recital Series brings to historic Finney Chapel the world’s most talented performers across a spectrum of musical styles. The series at 91ֱ�� continues September 30 with a visit by the Zukerman Trio, featuring celebrated violinist Pinchas Zukerman and 91ֱ��’s own Professor of Piano Angela Cheng. The trio will perform works by Glière, Shostakovich, and Schubert.
